Online Language Arts, Literature and History Courses for Homeschoolers

The WriteAtHome Story

Brian Wasko, Founder & President

Brian began teaching high school English in a public school in Chesapeake, VA in 1988 after graduating from the University of Virginia.

He’s the father of four homeschooled daughters and began offering weekly writing classes to the teen homeschoolers in 1994, developing his own curriculum and seeing exciting growth in their writing skills.

In 2001, it was time for a career change and, while running on a treadmill at the YMCA, Brian got an idea. Why not take the writing courses online? The name WriteAtHome came to him too, and that's where it all began.

Since then, WriteAtHome has become an important part of the homeschooling experience for tens of thousands of students. We’ve added online literature and history classes and English Language Arts for grades four and five.
