These optional, drop-in meetings will give you real-time help from a friendly WriteAtHome Writing Coach — no pressure, just support. They’re meant to supplement the awesome, weekly feedback you get from your personal writing coach and are a great way to interact with other WriteAtHome writing students. You can ask questions or sit in and learn from others. Come when you need help. Leave when you're ready.
We’ll offer three Writing Coach Help Sessions every Monday* beginning September 8, 2025.
Mondays at 1 PM, Eastern Time: Middle School Writing Help Session
Mondays at 2 PM, Eastern Time: Research Paper and Academic Essay Writing Help Session
Mondays at 3 PM, Eastern Time: High School Writing Help Session
*Writing Coach Help Sessions will not be held during WriteAtHome vacations or breaks.

Annual Writing Courses
($579 per year)
Only offered in the fall, our annual courses run thirty-two weeks, not including holiday breaks. They are our most popular courses and are generally our first recommendation. Why? Simply, writing is a skill one develops through practice, and annual courses provide the most practice.
Our annual courses are comprehensive courses that cover a wide range of writing types, including creative, academic, and practical writing. We think students benefit the most from our annual courses.
The major difference among the high school composition courses is that High School 2, 3, & 4 include an essay writing workshop and a research paper in the second semester.
High School 1 is considered our "foundations" course. We generally recommend that students in 9th or 10th grade start there. It includes a basic, persuasive essay but no research paper.

Semester Writing Courses
($299 per semester)
Annual courses, however, just don't work for everyone. Some families may start mid-year or only discover WriteAtHome after the annual enrollment has closed. Others may want to split the investment into two payments. Our semester courses (A and B) offer the solution for those who cannot enroll in an annual course. They offer the same content as our annual courses but are divided into two 16-week semesters.
All semester courses are offered twice per year — in both the fall and spring semesters — and students may start with either the A or B semester.
8-Week Writing Workshops
($199 per workshop)
If you are looking for an a la carte approach, you should consider our workshops. These each focus on one particular type of writing. Some examples are short story writing, essay writing, and research paper writing. If your budget or time is limited, or if you are only interested in a particular type of writing skill, workshops might be the best option for you.
Workshops are offered throughout the year: five workshop sessions during the school year and two summer sessions.
