Shelby Mickler

Shelby Mickler has always had a knack for writing, but never knew how to use her skill for the greater good until she began tutoring at Jacksonville University, where she earned her B.A. in English, minor in writing, and Certification in Editing. Now, she finds fulfillment in helping people present their best self on paper.

Of course, the first step to being a great writing coach is being a great writer. Luckily, Shelby is an experienced and accredited author with several writing awards, including state-level honors, to her name. She first wrote for the website Shmoop before having work published in both magazines and newspapers. She has written for nearly all media outlets, including novels, short stories, screenplays, newspaper articles, academic essays, argumentative and expository papers, and even poetry. Her particular talent and interest in academic writing brought her to prestigious conferences such as the National Council of Undergraduate Research and the Florida Collegiate Honors Council, where she has presented written research.

When she's not writing, Shelby loves catching up on the latest Batman comics, watching old Disney movies, and cuddling her little orange kitten, Titan. Shelby is always searching for opportunities to help others become better writers, and can't wait to help you blossom!
