*NOTE: In order to accommodate CA charter school payment and purchase order procedures, all WriteAtHome annual courses have been divided into two semester courses for CA students and are billed as semester courses in the fall and spring.

A-G English: 32-week annual courses. $475 per semester, billed in the fall and spring
A-G History: 32-week annual courses. $299 per semester, billed in fall and spring
Bundle A-G English + A-G Annual History: $652.50 per semester, billed in fall and spring
A-G Live, Semester Economics, Ethnic Studies, or Government: $299 per course
Self-Paced, Semester Economics or Government: $149 per course
Semester Writing (Grades 6-12): $299 per semester course
8-week writing workshops (Grades 6-12): $199 per workshop
Annual, Live Literature Classes (Grades 6-12): $299 per semester, billed in fall and spring
Annual, Self-Paced Literature Classes (Grades 6-12): $249 per course
Annual, Live History Classes (Grades 6-12): $299 per semester, billed in fall and spring
Annual, Self-Paced History Classes (Grades 6-12): $249 per course
Elementary ELA (Grades 4 & 5): $299 per semester, billed in fall and spring
Bundle 2* or A-G English: $475 per semester (billed in the fall and spring)
Bundle 3* or A-G English + A-G History: $652.50 per semester, billed in fall and spring
*Bundle 2 and 3 options: Enroll the same student in two or more annual writing (A & B versions of the same course in fall and spring), live annual history or live literature courses and SAVE!
A-G English is considered a Bundle 2 because it includes a year of writing and a year of literature.
To enroll California charter students:
Choose the courses you want your student(s) to take.
Submit an enrollment form for each student to provide information we need for enrollment.
Reach out to your teacher/ES to confirm your class choices. Follow your school’s procedure for requesting classes and purchase orders.
When we receive the school purchase order for your student(s), we will enroll them and send you a confirmation email with information about getting started.
A-G Courses for California High School Students
WriteAtHome provides A-G options for California students in English, history, economics, ethnic studies, and government. Please scroll down for more information.
Writing Courses: Grades 6-12
A personal writing coach for every student. Real teachers. Real feedback. Real progress.
WriteAtHome provides 16-week semester courses and 8-week writing workshops for students of all abilities. We start where each student is and coach them toward improvement. These online, asynchronous courses provide weekly lessons, assignments, and feedback from personal writing coaches. To provide students with an annual writing course, choose the A semester version in fall and the B semester version of the same class in spring.
Literature Classes: Grades 6-12
Available as live or self-paced online courses. The live, annual, 32-week literature classes cover great works of literature while instilling a love of reading in students. Live classes meet weekly for lecture and discussion and include weekly quizzes and discussion posts. They also include two papers and a creative project during the year. Academic support and grading are provided by the teacher and TAs. Self-paced courses provide students with recorded lectures, auto-graded quizzes, discussion questions, and reading pacing guides. They do not provide academic support from WriteAtHome teachers/TAs or class interaction with other students.
History Classes: Grades 6-12
Available as live or self-paced online courses. The live, annual, 32-week middle school and high school history classes meet weekly for lecture and discussion and include weekly quizzes and discussion posts. They also include two papers during the year. Academic support and grading are provided by the teacher. Self-paced courses provide students with recorded lectures, auto-graded quizzes, discussion questions, and reading pacing guides. They do not provide academic support from WriteAtHome teachers/TAs or class interaction with other students.
Economics, Ethnic Studies*, and Government: Grades 9-12
Available as live or self-paced online courses. The live 16-week semester high school classes meet weekly for lecture and discussion and include weekly quizzes and discussion posts. Academic support and grading are provided by the teacher. Self-paced courses provide students with recorded lectures, auto-graded quizzes, discussion questions, and reading pacing guides. They do not provide academic support from WriteAtHome teachers/TAs or class interaction with other students.

Elementary English Language Arts: Grades 4 & 5
WriteAtHome Elementary ELA classes are live, online, 32-week annual courses. They cover writing, grammar, and reading and meet weekly via Zoom. Grading and feedback on all assignments is provided by the teacher.
A-G Courses for California Charter Schools
Each California school determines which courses they will offer to fulfill A-G requirements. Please check with your school to be sure WriteAtHome is one of its options, and please reach out if you’d like to use our A-G courses but your school currently does not offer them.
Once you confirm your school uses WriteAtHome A-G English, history, government and/or economics courses, use the form below to reserve your student’s place in our classes.
Students will be enrolled when we receive the school purchase order.
A-G English Courses
WriteAtHome A-G English courses combine an annual WriteAtHome writing course, a literature course, and additional projects to align with the California A-G English requirements (B).
The writing courses are online, asynchronous, and include tutoring from expert writing coaches. Click here to learn more about how our writing courses work.
The literature component of WriteAtHome A-G English courses are either live Zoom classes which meet weekly or self-paced courses that do not include instructor support from WriteAtHome. Please confirm which options your school allows for their A-G English courses. Recordings are made available for students who have to miss live class sessions.
