Brian Wasko


Brian Wasko started WriteAtHome® in 2001 after 13 years of high school teaching in public, private, and homeschool support education. He earned an English degree and a secondary English teaching certificate from the University of Virginia in 1988. Mr. Wasko has also worked in part-time and full-time youth and family ministry. He has published several articles as a free lance writer and editor. He lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia with his wife Melanie and four homeschooled daughters. He is the owner and president of WriteAtHome, and is solely responsible for all typos on the lessons and assignments. Steve Bokmiller

Business Manager

Born and raised a Buckeye, Steve moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1987 to help start a local church. It was there he met his wife Wendy and the other fine folks you see here on this page. Not only does he count it a privilege of working together with them to serve the customers of WriteAtHome, but he is also grateful for the added benefit of their friendship. He has been moonlighting as WriteAtHome’s part-time CFO and Business Manager since the website was launched in 2004. Steve earned his MBA in Accounting from Regent University in 2000. Steve and Wendy have a son and daughter, both of whom are homeschooled by Wendy, a former public school teacher.

Don Myhill

Director of Operations

Don lives in Chesapeake, Virginia with his wife Katherine. They have three grown daughters – all of whom were home educated. The Myhills have enjoyed homeschooling--especially helping their daughters learn to write. Don graduated from Oral Roberts University in 1980 with a B.A. in Biblical Literature and minor in English. His work experience includes writing and editing software training material, personnel policy documentation, and software development specifications. He also designed classroom style curriculum for software training and led numerous business-oriented training classes. Don enjoys grandchildren, maps, bicycling, words, word origins, writing, and literature.

Jeff Duenke

Director of Technology

Jeff Duenke and his wife Rebecca have three sons and one daughter. All four have been homeschooled at various times during their school years. Jeff graduated from Westmont College in 1991 with a degree in Business and a minor in Computer Science. While in high school he wrote his first programs in LOGO and BASIC and built his first 8086 PC as a freshman in college. He was working for a video production company as a 3D animator in 1994 when asked to research HTML and the World Wide Web in order to create a web site for a client on the Internet. From that point on, he has been involved in programming Internet applications. Jeff enjoys anything that involves technology, the challenge of figuring out how to make something work, and the creativity involved in programming and graphic design.
